4m2 @ Wasteland

[NL] 4m2 is een project van Vladislav Curcin waarin hij kunst en permacultuur combineert in de Wastl tuin van nadine.

Het project richt zich op de kunstenaar’s onderzoek in permacultuur en de toepassing van deze technieken in micro-stedelijk gebied en het delen hiervan.

De artistieke keuze is het observeren en de interactie met bodem en planten. De indrukken van deze processen en de reflecties als gevolg van een tekstueel onderzoek zijn materiaal voor een korte film en een audiovisuele performance.

De methode die gebruikt wordt in dit project is het combineren van planten. Het gebruik van chemische pesticiden en herbiciden wordt verworpen, het gebruik van organische herbiciden en pesticiden niet. De enige kunstmest is compost. Alle groenten worden gekweekt om te delen. Alle bezoekers van Wastl zijn vrij rijpe groenten uit het veld te plukken.

[EN] 4m2 is a project by Vladislav Curcin which combines art and permaculture practice in Wastl garden of nadine.

The project is aimed towards artist’s self-education in permaculture, application of its techniques in micro-urban area, and sharing.

The artistic choice is to observe and interact with soil’s and plants’ conditions. The impressions from these processes and the reflexions arising from a textual research are material for a short film and audiovisual performance.

The plant planting method used in this project is the companion planting. The use of chemical pesticides and herbicides is rejected. The use of organic herbicides and pesticides is not. The only fertilizer is compost. All vegetables are grown to be shared. All visitors of Wastl are free to pick up ripe vegetables from the field.

4m2 project finishes when last vegetable from it is eaten. Permaculture practice of the artist continues…
