First biking day, and it becomes clear that Poland is not the flat country we hoped for. We encounter all possible roads: hill roads, sand road, mud, big roads with heavy traffic, etc in one day. Restaurants are scarce in Poland, as well as bars. Our last village stop only gives us a small shop, where we get food for the evening and then find a place to camp: the mosquito forest..

Fiesta del Maize y Maguey, Gathering and Exhibition Opening

Auditorium of the Cultural Centre Santo Domingo and Ehtnobotanic Garden of Oaxaca

This Fiesta summons research and explorations done around corn and agave, two plants deeply embedded in Mexican culture. During the gathering, experts and artists are sharing their practice and reflections around these plants and providing a frame for the exhibit.

The show opens with a concert “El maguey y otros árboles”, followed by a snack and a guided tour through the exhibition in the ethnobotanic garden.

The presented pieces engage, in direct and indirect ways, with Maize and Maguey, and represent ongoing investigations and artistic processes.

11:00-13:30 Gathering at the Auditorium of Santo Domingo, entrance through the ethnobotanic garden

13:30-14:00 Concert “El Maguey y otros árboles”

14:00-17:00 Opening of the exhibition in the botanic garden
