All artistic disciplines are welcome: writers, performers, dancers, visual artists (video, photography, sculpture, installation, painting), sound artists, actors, designers, etc. The working method is based on the principles of transmission and transformation: one person’s artistic material will be someone else’s starting point and inspiration. Individual creations will become a collective good.

Artistic disciplines will intersect with each other. We are therefore looking for artists with a generous and interdisciplinary attitude who can be sufficiently present during three weeks to make a collaborative process possible. Quick action and an interest in working in or with the public space are required.

Interested artists will enjoy an inspiring context and fixed timeframe to create new work. A small production budget is available.

During the first week, the project will be workshop-based (10:00 to 15:00). The second and third weeks are more flexible. We will focus on the creation of a collective work in the public space in the form of an interdisciplinary story world consisting of text, sound, image, movement, color and form.

Our working area comprises the neighborhood of Porte De Namur, Chaussée d’Ixelles, Matongé, and place Saint Boniface.

GODIVA: a collaborative story will be directed by Rebecca Lenaerts. As an individual artist with a background in theatre, Lenaerts has extensive experience in working in interdisciplinary contexts. [NL] GODIVA: a collaborative story is een interdisciplinair kunstproject over collaborative storytelling. Gedurende drie weken, zullen 10 kunstenaars die werken vanuit verschillende disciplines nieuw werk in situ creëren geïnspireerd door de legenda van Lady Godiva en het gelijknamige merk van Belgische chocolade. Het doel van het project is een interdisciplinair werk te creëren in de openbare ruimte over zoetigheden.

Alle artistieke disciplines zijn welkom: schrijvers, performers, danser, beeldende kunstenaars (video, fotografie, beeldhouwkunst, installatie, schilderkunst), geluidskunstenaars, acteurs, ontwerpers, …. De werkmethode is gebaseerd op de principes van overdracht en transformatie: het artistiek materiaal van de ene zal het vertrekpunt en de inspiratiebron zijn voor de ander. Individueel gecreëerd werk, wordt collectief goed.

Artistieke disciplines lopen door elkaar. Daarom zoeken we naar kunstenaars met een vrijgevige, open en interdisciplinaire houding die voldoende aanwezig kunnen zijn om een samenwerkingsproces mogelijk te maken. Snelle actie en een interesse om te werken in de publieke ruimte zijn een must. Geïnteresseerde kunstenaars wordt een inspirerende context en bepaald tijdskader aangeboden om nieuw werk te creëren. Een bescheiden productiebudget is voorzien.

De eerste week zal het project als workshop van start gaan (van 10u tot 15u). De tweede en derde week zijn meer open. We focussen dan op de creatie van een finaal collectief werk in de publieke ruimte in de vorm van een interdisciplinair verhaal in tekst, geluid, beeld, beweging, kleur en vorm. De wijk van de Naamsepoort, Elsense Steenweg, Matongé en het Sint Bonifaasplein is ons werkterrein.

[FR] GODIVA: a collaborative story est un projet artistique interdisciplinaire de construction d’un récit collectif. Pendant trois semaines, dix artistes issus de différentes disciplines artistiques créeront une nouvelle œuvre in situ inspirée de la légende de Lady Godiva et de la marque éponyme de chocolat belge. L’objectif du projet est de travailler à la création d’un parcours interdisciplinaire dans l’espace public sur le thème des confiseries.

Toutes les disciplines artistiques sont les bienvenues : écrivains, performeurs, danseurs, artistes plasticiens (vidéo, photographie, sculpture, installation, peinture), artistes du son, acteurs, graphistes, etc. La méthode de travail est basée sur les principes de transmission et de transformation : la production d’un artiste sera le point de départ et la source d’inspiration d’un autre artiste. La création individuelle devient un bien collectif. Les disciplines artistiques s’entrecroisent. Nous sommes dès lors à la recherche d’artistes au tempérament généreux et interdisciplinaire qui pourront être suffisamment présents durant trois semaines pour rendre un processus de collaboration possible. Une rapidité d’action et un intérêt pour le travail avec ou dans l’espace public sont nécessaires. Les artistes intéressés bénéficieront d’un contexte stimulant et d’un cadre temporel défini pour créer une nouvelle œuvre. Un budget de production limité est prévu.

La première semaine, le projet sera organisé autour d’un workshop (de 10h à 15h). Les deuxième et troisième semaines seront plus libres. Nous nous concentrerons sur la création d’une œuvre collective dans l’espace public sous la forme d’un monde narratif interdisciplinaire fait de textes, de sons, d’images, de mouvements, de couleurs et de formes. Notre espace de travail sera le quartier de la Porte de Namur, de la chaussée d’Ixelles, de Matongé et de la place Saint-Boniface.

GODIVA : une histoire de collaboration sera dirigé par Rebecca Lenaerts. En tant qu’artiste à titre individuel ayant travaillé dans le théâtre, Lenaerts a beaucoup d’expérience du travail dans un contexte interdisciplinaire.
