Aan het einde van de Neerveldstraat in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe staat een voormalige boerderij. Deze boerderij werd gekocht door projectontwikkelaar Urbicoon, die heel de straat probeert op te kopen om er luxe appartementen te realiseren.

In 2025 werd het Uitvoerend Comité (Jakob Van den Broucke en Kasper Demeulemeester) van Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum, afdeling W(IP) gevraagd om in S-L-Woluwe aan de slag te gaan rond de thema’s verandering en samenwerking.

Jakob en Kasper kozen ervoor om te werken rond de Neerveldstraat, en meer bepaald rond de huizen van nummer 31 tot 79 van de straat – het stuk van de straat dat Urbicoon ambieert af te breken, het stuk dat één van de enige plaatsen in Woluwe is die nog tekenen vertonen van het agrarisch verleden van de gemeente. Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe is één van de snelst groeiende gemeentes van Brussel. Huizen kosten er gemiddeld €699.333, appartementen €417.711.

Doorheen 4 acties werd het toekomstig verdwijnen van de straat gethematiseerd. Na een (1) Fotografisch-Therapeutische Wandeling en een (2) Penthouse Safari werd het verzamelde beeldmateriaal tijdens talloze uren van (3) Werkzaamheden en Gedachten uitgewerkt tot een collectief textielwerk. De groep die in de loop van deze acties ontstond, verenigde zich onder de titel The Last House of the Street.

Op 30 mei 2026 vond de laatste actie van het project plaats. In de vorm van een (4) optocht trok de groep van gemeenschapscentrum Op-Weule, door het Woluwe Shopping Center, langs Centre Culturel Wolubilis, via the W (een door Urbicoon reeds gerealiseerd complex van woon- en beleggingsappartementen), tot aan het laatste huis van de straat: de boerderij aan het eind van de Neerveldstraat

Het laatste huis van de straat werd gerealiseerd als samenwerking tussen GC Op-Weule, Centre Culturel Wolubilis, de Nederlandstalige cultuurdienst van Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, nadine vzw, Arno De Bock, Kasper Demeulemeester, Jakob Van den Broucke, Corinne Baix, Véronique Cala, Maria Cordeiro, Martine De Meyer, Pavla De Waele, Francoise Delperee, Jean-Marie Dawagne, Laurence Feneau, Monique Fontaine, Lucie Hage, Ouahiba Mihoubi, Mariela Pilaguano, Sonia Rotenberg, Margaux Saussier, Elisa Taralunga, Simonne Van Gelder, Geert Van Waegh, Christine Wilson en Katrien Wyckaert.

Het textielkunstwerk (een diptiek) maakt vanaf nu deel uit van de collectie van de Artothèque van Wolubilis, die zal faciliteren dat het werk en de verhalen die het vormden, zal reizen doorheen de leef- en werkruimtes van bewoners en andere leden van de kunstuitleen. Op 4 juli 2026 wordt het werk officieel voorgesteld in de Artothèque.

There is an old farmhouse at the end of the Neerveldstraat in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe. This farm was purchased by project developer Urbicoon, who attempts to buy the entire street and build luxury apartments buildings.

In 2025, the Executive Committee (Jakob Van den Broucke and Kasper Demeulemeester) of Temporary Information Center, section W(IP) was asked to work in S-L-Woluwe on the themes of change and cooperation.

Jakob and Kasper chose to focus on the Neerveldstraat, and more specifically on the houses from number 31 to 79 of the street – the area of the street that Urbicoon intends to demolish, the area that is one of the only places in Woluwe still showing signs of the municipality’s agricultural past. Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in Brussels: houses cost an average of €699,333, apartments €417,711.

Throughout 4 actions, the future disappearance of the street was thematized. After a (1) Photographic-Therapeutic Walk and a (2) Penthouse Safari, the collected visual material was developed into a collective textile work during countless hours of (3) Work and Thoughts. The group that emerged during these actions united under the title The Last House of the Street.

The final action of the project took place on May 30, 2026. In the form of a (4) procession, the group walked from community centre Op-Weule through the Woluwe Shopping Centre, past Centre Culturel Wolubilis, via the W (a complex of residential and investment apartments already realized by Urbicoon), to the last house of the street: the farmhouse at the end of Neerveldstraat.

The last house of the street was realized as a collaboration between GC Op-Weule, Centre Culturel Wolubilis, the Dutch-speaking cultural service of Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, nadine vzw, Arno De Bock, Kasper Demeulemeester, Jakob Van den Broucke, Baix Corinne, Véronique Cala, Maria Cordeiro, Martine De Meyer, Pavla De Waele, Francoise Delperee, Jean-Marie Dawagne, Laurence Feneau, Monique Fontaine, Lucie Hage, Ouahiba Mihoubi, Mariela Pilaguano, Sonia Rotenberg, Margaux Saussier, Elisa Taralunga, Simonne Van Gelder, Geert Van Waegh, Christine Wilson and Katrien Wyckaert.

From now on, the textile artwork (a diptych) is part of the collection of the Wolubilis Artothèque, which will facilitate the travel of the work and the stories that shaped it through the living and working spaces of residents and other members of the art lending service. The work will be officially presented at the Artothèque on July 4, 2026.

Au bout de la rue Neerveld, à Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, on trouve une ancienne ferme. Celle-ci a été rachetée par le promoteur Urbicoon, qui souhaite acquérir toute la rue pour y construire des appartements de luxe.

En 2025, le Comité exécutif (Jakob Van den Broucke et Kasper Demeulemeester) de la section W(IP) du Centre d’information temporaire a été chargé de travailler à Woluwe-Saint-Lambert sur les thèmes du changement et de la coopération.

Jakob et Kasper ont choisi de se concentrer sur la rue Neerveld, et plus précisément sur les maisons numérotées de 31 à 79 – la portion de rue que Urbicoon prévoit de démolir, l’un des rares endroits de Woluwe qui conserve des traces du passé agricole de la commune. Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe est l’une des communes bruxelloises connaissant la plus forte croissance. Les maisons y coûtent en moyenne € 699.333, les appartements € 417.711.

À travers 4 actions, la disparition future de la rue a été thématisée. Après une (1) Promenade photographique thérapeutique et une (2) Penthouse Safari, les éléments visuels collectés ont été transformés en une œuvre textile collective au cours de nombreuses heures d'(3) Travail et Pensées. Le groupe ainsi constitué s’est réuni sous le titre « La Dernière Maison de la Rue ».

L’action finale du projet a eu lieu le 30 mai 2026. Sous la forme d’une (4) procession, le groupe marchait du centre communautaire Op-Weule au centre commercial Woluwe Shopping, a longé le Centre Culturel Wolubilis, puis le complexe W (un ensemble d’appartements résidentiels et d’investissement déjà réalisé par Urbicoon), pour rejoindre la dernière maison de la rue : la ferme au bout de la rue Neerveld.

La dernière maison de la rue a été une collaboration entre GC Op-Weule, le Centre Culturel Wolubilis, le service culturel néerlandophone de Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, nadine vzw, Arno De Bock, Kasper Demeulemeester, Jakob Van den Broucke, Baix Corinne, Véronique Cala, Maria Cordeiro, Martine De Meyer, Pavla De Waele, Francoise Delperee, Jean-Marie Dawagne, Laurence Feneau, Monique Fontaine, Lucie Hage, Ouahiba Mihoubi, Mariela Pilaguano, Sonia Rotenberg, Margaux Saussier, Elisa Taralunga, Simonne Van Gelder, Geert Van Waegh, Christine Wilson et Katrien Wyckaert.

Désormais, l’œuvre textile (un diptyque) fait partie de la collection de l’Artothèque de Wolubilis, ce qui facilitera sa diffusion et celle des récits qui l’ont inspirée à travers les espaces de vie et de travail des habitants et des autres membres du service de prêt d’œuvres d’art. Le 4 juillet 2026, l’œuvre sera officiellement présentée à l’Artothèque.
