[EN] The exhibition NOISY IMAGES by Antje Van Wichelen, Rokia Bamba and Michael Murtaugh opens at the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum in the framework of the Photoszene Festival’s special programme Artist Meets Archive in Cologne, Germany.

Four installations are presented resulting from a research on colonial photo archives of institutions such as Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum, Quai Branly, Africa Museum Tervuren, Wereldculturen.nl, Pitt Rivers Museum, etc. With the collaboration of diaspora inhabitants, Antje Van Wichelen also intervened in the permanent exhibition of the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum.

NOISY IMAGES was created by Antje Van Wichelen (installation with five 16mm film), Rokia Bamba (sound installation), Michael Murtaugh & Nicolas Maleve (co-created The Recognition Machine), curator Lucia Halder (Rautenstrauch Joest Museum), Loes Jacobs (nadine), and architect Jonathan Haehn. [NL] De tentoonstelling NOISY IMAGES in het Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum maakte deel uit van het programma Artist Meets Archive van het Photoszene Festival in Keulen, Duitsland. Er werden vier installaties gepresenteerd die het resultaat zijn van archiefwerk van Antje Van Wichelen op het gebied van koloniale fotoarchieven van instellingen zoals het Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum, Quai Branly, Afrika Museum Tervuren, Wereldculturen.nl, Pitt Rivers Museum, etc. Er werd tevens ingegrepen in de permanente tentoonstelling van het Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum.

NOISY IMAGES werd gerealiseerd door Antje Van Wichelen, Rokia Bamba (maakte de geluidsinstallatie voor Noisy Images), Michael Murtaugh & Nicolas Maleve (co-creatie van The Recognition Machine), Loes Jacobs (nadine – productiehulp), architect Jonathan Haehn en curator Lucia Halder.
