[NL] Etat des Lieux zijn collectieve toonmomenten waar kunstenaars en publiek samengebracht worden. Kunstenaars worden uitgenodigd om een programma vorm te geven waarin ze hun lopend onderzoek of try-outs delen.
Eind oktober 2023 landt Etat des Lieux in BUDA. De kunstenaars die deelnemen zijn Mathilde Maillard, Emma Lee Harder, Caroline Daish (She Shanties), Isabel Burr Raty en Lucia Palladino. Zij nemen het publiek mee op een (imaginaire) reis langs water, aarde, bos. Een dag die energie opwekt met zang, storytelling en speculatieve science-fiction.

[EN] Etat des Lieux are collective presentation moments where artists and audiences are brought together. Artists are invited to shape a programme in which they share their ongoing research or try-outs.
At the end of October 2023, Etat des Lieux lands at BUDA. The artists participating are Mathilde Maillard, Emma Lee Harder, Caroline Daish (She Shanties), Isabel Burr Raty and Lucia Palladino. They take the audience on an (imaginary) journey along water, earth, forest. A day that energises with song, storytelling and speculative science fiction.

She Shanties & Other Water Stories

[NL] Tijdens een zomerse reis langs de kanalen en rivieren van Wallonië en Vlaanderen verzamelden Captains Caroline, Emma en Mathilde verhalen die getuigen over de digitalisering van de kanaalsluizen. Ze verzamelden en bedachten ook She-Shanties (een Engelse woordspeling op ‘Sea Shanties’). Binnen het She Shanties project delen Emma Lee Harder, Caroline Daish en Mathilde Maillard hun gemeenschappelijke liefde voor vocale improvisatie, de mix en remix van wat er gezegd wordt, geluids- en radiofonische situaties, women empowerment circles en de traagheid van het varen over het water.
In Kortrijk kan je inschepen op een toeristische boot en genieten van een selectie van She Shanties & Other Stories stukken en improvisaties langs de Leie met de kapiteins Emma en Mathilde.

[EN] During a summer trip along the canals and rivers of Wallonia and Flanders, Captains Caroline, Emma and Mathilde collected stories that bear witness to the digitisation of canal locks. They also collected and devised She-Shanties (an English pun on ‘Sea Shanties’). Within the She Shanties project, Emma, Caroline and Mathilde share their common love for vocal improvisation, the mixing and remixing of what is said, sound and radiophonic situations, women empowerment circles and the slowness of navigating the water.
In Kortrijk, you can board a tourist boat and enjoy a selection of She Shanties & Other Stories pieces and improvisations along the Leie with captains Emma and Mathilde.

The Village / It’s not -post- It’s happening in my garden!

[NL] Isabel Burr Raty ontwikkelt The (Power Plant) Village, een transdisciplinair artistiek onderzoek over herstellende ecologie en versnelde post-natural scenario’s, door te spelen met de kwantumfictie van een off the grid gemeenschap die leeft rond een nomadische energiecentrale.
Tijdens deze gelegenheid in BUDA zal The Village kwantumbestanden openen die atomaire en moleculaire tunnelproeven bevatten van de Bubble-Ponics, een hallucinogeen kweekproces van neurotransmitters, uitgevoerd in het midden van de Belgische plattelandsapocalyps.

[EN] Isabel Burr Raty is developing The (Power Plant) Village, a transdisciplinary artistic research of restorative ecology and accelerated post-natural scenarios, by playing with the quantum fiction of an off the grid community living around a nomadic power plant.
During this occasion at Buda, The Village will open up quantum files containing atomic and molecular tunneling trials of the Bubble-Ponics, a hallucinogenic neurotransmitters cultivation process, carried-out in the middle of the Belgian countryside apocalypse.

the forest__ 

[NL] Lucia Palladino werkt momenteel aan het project the forest_ dat verbale taal onderzoekt vanuit een ontologisch standpunt, of hoe taal een producent van kennis wordt. Aan de hand van drie autonome delen ontstaat the forest__ als een niet-lineair, poëtisch discours dat verschillende spatio-temporele portalen opent, elk met een ander effect in relatie tot het publiek.
Tijdens Etat des Lieux deelt ze een participatieve schrijf- en leesscore die een efemere onderdompeling in een veelheid van fictieve werelden creëert.

[EN] Lucia Palladino is currently working on the project the forest_, which investigates verbal language from an ontological point of view, or how language becomes a producer of knowledge. Through three autonomous parts, the forest__ emerges as a non-linear, poetic discourse that opens different spatio-temporal portals, each with a different effect in relation to the audience.
During Etat des Lieux, she shares a participatory writing and reading score that creates an ephemeral immersion in a multitude of fictional worlds.
