[EN] At Waking Life festival, the arrival of limoni took form during a large-scale experiment in a land zone near a lake in Barragem da Nascentes (Portugal). Since 2020, Matteo Deblasio writes and directs ai limoni del futuro: a Sci-Fi project that revolves around “limoni”: a sanctuary of lemon plants, but also the wet contract of kissing, with the tongue, in Italian slang. The project is conceived as performative writing project and a growing “garden” and nourishes an intimate relationship between the human and non-human.

The whole installation appeared as a dismembered geological body, in which elements of the human anatomical body on a large and small scale reappeared as part of the landscape, mixed with non-human forms. The land was transformed into a stage, including “Wet Mouth spaceship”, “Spiral Hole: Earth Pots Invasion”, “Lasagna Bed – Soil Regeneration”.
Together with Camilla Borud Strandhagen, Matteo conceived possible choreographies for this magic place around the lake. Using eco-sensory “scores” they opened up their bodies for imagination with the landscape. The interaction with the Bureau D’Adoption (situational performance with the audience) made it possible to unlock the fiction.

[NL]  Op het Waking Life festival kreeg de komst van limoni vorm tijdens een grootschalig experiment in een landzone bij een meer in Barragem da Nascentes (Portugal). Sinds 2020 schrijft en regisseert Matteo Deblasio ai limoni del futuro: een science fiction project opgebouwd rond “limoni” > een heiligdom van citroenplanten, maar ook het natte contract van het zoenen in Italiaans jargon. Het project is opgevat als een performatief schrijfproject en een groeiende “tuin” en voedt een intieme relatie tussen mens en niet-mens.

De hele installatie verscheen als een uiteengereten geologisch lichaam, waarin elementen van het menselijk anatomisch lichaam op grote en kleine schaal opnieuw verschenen als onderdeel van het landschap, vermengd met niet-menselijke vormen. Het land werd getransformeerd in een podium, waaronder “Wet Mouth spaceship”, “Spiral Hole: Earth Pots Invasion”, “Lasagna Bed – Soil Regeneration”.
Met Camilla Borud Strandhagen bedacht Matteo mogelijke choreografieën voor deze magische plek rond het meer. Met behulp van eco-sensorische “scores” stelden ze hun lichamen open voor verbeelding in het landschap. De interactie met het Bureau D’Adoption (situationele performance met het publiek) maakte het mogelijk om de fictie te ontsluiten.
