[EN] Buratinas is a small solar-powered boat that functions as a short-term residency space. This summer Buratinas will be on ‘Tour de Beljik #4’ with Buratinas Captains exploring Belgian waterways.
The NGHE Médiathèque thinks of music as political force capable of cultural hybridation and border crossing.Regularly we organize live events and concerts, always keeping in mind that the context in which the music is created, the bands invited, the particular acoustic of an unconventional venue and the audience it will reach matter a great deal to keep this force alive and powerful.On the Buratinas boat, NGHE will be nomadic, sailing along the canals and broadcasting parts of its cassette tapes collection, improvised music and accapella chants. The boat will dock from time to time, inviting people in and creating spontaneous sonic events. Drawings, texts and recordings will be made in order to capture these moments and create a new cassette for the collection.

[NL] Buratinas is een klein bootje op zonne-energie dat functioneert als een korte termijn verblijfsruimte. Deze zomer zal Buratinas op ‘Tour de Beljik #4’ zijn met Buratinas Kapiteins die de Belgische waterwegen verkennen.
De NGHE Médiathèque beschouwt muziek als een politieke kracht die in staat is tot culturele hybridisering en grensoverschrijding. Regelmatig organiseren we live-evenementen en concerten, waarbij we steeds voor ogen houden dat de context waarin de muziek tot stand komt, de uitgenodigde bands, de bijzondere akoestiek van een onconventionele locatie en het publiek dat het zal bereiken er veel toe doen om deze kracht levendig en krachtig te houden.Op de Buratinas-boot zal de NGHE nomadisch zijn en langs de grachten varen en delen van haar cassettebandcollectie, geïmproviseerde muziek en acapellagezangen uitzenden. De boot zal van tijd tot tijd aanleggen, mensen uitnodigen en spontane sonische gebeurtenissen creëren. Er worden tekeningen, teksten en opnames gemaakt om deze momenten vast te leggen en een nieuwe cassette voor de collectie te creëren.

La médiathèque NGHE envisage la musique comme force politique capable de franchir des frontières et de faire se rencontrer différentes actions culturelles. Nous organisons régulièrement des concerts et des évènements live, où sont prit en compte le contexte de création, les groupes invités, l’acoustique singulière d’un espace non conventionnel ainsi que le public pour enrichir et soutenir cette force politique vivante et puissante.
Sur le Buratinas, la médiathèque NGHE sera nomade et voguera le long des canaux en diffusant ses cassettes, sa musique live improvisée et ses chants a cappella.
