During Brussel’s Slow Ways Weekend, oracle and the She Shanty Crew will invite you to wander and croon your way slowly through the city along the canal. Moving more slowly than walking pace, the small boat Buratinas will be traveling from BRYC to the Molenbeek lock during the whole afternoon of Sunday 16 october. The She Shanty Crew will sing and share eco-’she shanties’: feminised sailing songs, inspired by the rippling rhythm of the Brussel’s waterways and their ecosystem. They investigate the influence of the canal on their vocal practice and the call and response code of sea- shanties. The public can follow the parcours from the banks and bridges or board the Buratinas at various stops to sing along: Van Praetbrug, Mabru (tram 3), BootTenace (near Tour & Taxis), Kaaitheater / Kanal, Le Phare du Canal (Quai des Charbonnages), Walvis.

Taxi Buratinas invites the public along the quay to take a ride on the canal and perceive the city from the water. It is a unique way to bridge the canal, which is a physical boundary in everyday life. The boat is piloted by artists, who share their stories and experiences with the Buratinas audience along the way.

[NL] UBER SLOW- “SHE SHANTY TAXIBOAT”

[FR] UBER SLOW- “SHE SHANTY TAXIBOAT”
