[EN] In times in which different forms of tracking and quantification are multiplying, there is an increased need of forms of protection against new forms of surveillance that are put into place.
After a testing phase in which a prototype for means of counter-footfall has been prepared, Alex Zakkas and Kurt Tichy invite you for an amulet making workshop, in which you will be able to produce your own device against these new forms of “eyeing”.
This will be an occasion to discuss together the effects of these apparatuses on the development of the city center of Brussels, and the relations between shop windows, crowd management, pigeon flight paths and dropped waffles.
No specific knowledge or skill required. The workshop will be adapted depending on the levels of curiosity and handicraft of the participants. On Sunday 11 April, the amulets will be tested during a walk in the public space of Brussels.

[NL] In tijden waarin verschillende methodes van tracking en kwantificering zich in sneltempo vermenigvuldigen, is er nood aan bescherming tegen nieuwe vormen van surveillance.
Na een testfase waarin een prototype voor counter-footfall werd voorbereid, nodigen Alex Zakkas en Kurt Tichy u uit voor een workshop ‘amuletten maken’, waar u uw eigen apparaat tegen deze nieuwe vormen van “eyeing” kan produceren.
Dit is tevens een gelegenheid om de effecten van deze toestellen op de ontwikkeling van het stadscentrum van Brussel, en de relatie tussen etalages, crowd management, vliegroutes van duiven en
op de grond gevallen wafels te bespreken.
Deze workshop vereist geen specifieke voorkennis of vaardigheden en wordt aangepast aan de graad van nieuwsgierigheid en het vakmanschap van de deelnemers.
Op zondag 11 april worden de amuletten getest in de publieke ruimte van Brussel.

Alex Zakkas et Kurt Tichy vous invitent à un workshop de fabrication d’amulettes, au cours duquel vous produirez votre propre dispositif de défense contre ces nouvelles façons « d’être regardé ».
Ce sera l’occasion de discuter des effets de ces nouveaux appareils sur le développement du centre de Bruxelles. Aucun savoir spécifique n’est requis. Le samedi 11 avril, les amulettes seront testées lors d’une balade dans l’espace public.
