[EN] This year nadine is organizing the fourth edition of the Wandering Arts Biennial (4th WAB).
The WAB is a contemporary arts biennial that focuses on versatile research, production and presentation methods of artists with nomadic practices.

In 2014 nadine created WAB to anticipate artists and creative thinkers using mobility, nomadism and temporality as an instrument or creative method in their artistic practice. WAB was conceived as an open platform where works can be shown, shared and communicated in an independent context. Each edition of the WAB is followed by a publication, designed by Uberknackig, featuring contributions from all the participating artists.

This fourth edition of the WAB returns to the initial aim of the biennial, i.e. to serve as a platform for encounter and exchange for participating artists.
In early 2020, during different gatherings, a number of themes were distilled that connect to the research and practice of participants. These strands will serve as the backdrop for the biennial, offering a focal point to all activities happening.

[NL] Dit jaar organiseert nadine de vierde editie van de Wandering Arts Biennial (4th WAB).
De Wandering Arts Biennial is een onderzoeks- en productiebiënnale die zich richt op mobiliteit, veelzijdige productie- en presentatiemethoden binnen de hedendaagse kunst en nomadische praktijken van kunstenaars.

Omdat veel kunstenaars en creatieve denkers mobiliteit, nomadisme en tijdelijkheid gebruiken als een instrument of creatiemethode in hun artistieke praktijk, creëerde nadine WAB in 2014 als een open platform waar werk getoond, gedeeld en gecommuniceerd kan worden in een onafhankelijke context tijdens tentoonstellingen, lezingen, presentaties en andere publieke activiteiten. Elke editie van de WAB wordt gevolgd door een publicatie, ontworpen door Überknackig, waaraan alle deelnemende kunstenaars een eigen hoofdstuk bijdragen.

Deze vierde editie van de WAB keert terug naar het oorspronkelijke doel van de biënnale, namelijk als platform voor ontmoeting en uitwisseling voor en door de deelnemende kunstenaars.
Begin 2020 zijn tijdens meerdere bijeenkomsten een aantal thema’s gedestilleerd die aansluiten bij het onderzoek en de praktijk van de deelnemers. Deze uitgangspunten dienen als achtergrond voor de biënnale en bieden een kader aan de georganiseerde activiteiten.

[FR] Cette année Nadine organise la quatrième édition du Wandering Arts Biennial (4th WAB). Le WAB est une biennale d’arts contemporains concentrée sur des pratiques artistiques nomades.

Nadine crée le WAB en 2014 avec l’envie de soutenir des artistes et penseurs utilisant la mobilité, le nomadisme et le temps comme outils ou méthodes dans leurs recherches artistiques. Le WAB est conçu comme une plateforme ouverte où des œuvres sont montrées et partagées dans un contexte indépendant. Chaque édition du WAB est suivie d’une publication conçue par Uberknackig, présentant le travail de tous les artistes participants.

Cette quatrième édition renoue avec ses principes fondateurs : servir de lieu d’échange et de rencontres aux artistes. Début 2020 ont eu lieu différents rassemblements durant lesquels plusieurs thèmes ont été abordés. Ces pistes serviront de toile de fond aux différentes pratiques et discussions et constitueront un point de convergence pour toutes les activités qui s’y dérouleront.
