[EN] The Common Sweat Sauna is a real working sauna made only from recuperated materials. It was built in the public space of Brussels and immediately opened up to the public. The project intends to create a free nomadic urban sauna space that diverts from the logic of commercial and individualized wellness and that de-colonizes the public space. The sauna moves from place to place in Brussels and gathers a growing crowd that takes care of the sauna.

The Common Sweat Sauna is now located behind GC De Kriekelaar in Schaarbeek. nadine will open up the sauna during the New Year reception on 27 January 2017 from 18:00 until 21:00.

Please bring your ‘urban sauna gear’ (towel and swimsuit). Cold shower and changing room will be arranged!

 

[NL] Sauna club “Common sweat” is ontstaan uit frustratie over welnesscentra met slechte muziek die gedreven worden door een consumptielogica. Het zette kunstenaar Steven Jouwersma aan om zelf een echte sauna te bouwen van gerecupereerd materiaal die vrij toegankelijk is voor iedereen die een plek zoekt in de stad om tot rust te komen. Sinds vorig jaar reist de nomadische “Common Sweat” sauna door de openbare ruimte van Brussel.

De Common Sweat Sauna staat nu op de binnenkoer van GC De Kriekelaar in Schaarbeek. nadine houdt de sauna open tijdens de nieuwjaarsreceptie op 27 januari 2017 van 18u tot 21u.

Gelieve zelf je ‘urban sauna gear’ (handdoek en zwemkledij) mee te brengen. Een koude douche en kleedruimte zijn voorzien!
