[EN] “In 2019 ceci* invited 13 guests to join us in an experimental format, a scenographic dinner. How do things take shape? was the question that ran like a red thread through the evening. We were curious to explore how form can be considered beyond the reach and realm of humans. And stretch our understanding of what roles we play in our own processes of creating, making and producing.
That evening, one of the invitees didn’t show up in person. He had gotten stuck in limbo, between two flights on his way back from India to Europe and thus became our first phantom guest. We later met in his studio to ask him the same question that accompanied us during the dinner: How do things take shape ?

April 2021. These days, it might look like all seats around the (dinner) table are empty. But don’t be deceived! ceci will be in close contact with various phantom guests: artists and artisans, makers, thinkers, scientists… in order to understand how, for each of them, things take shape.
ceci picks up the thread where we have left it two years ago. From 20 to 30 April we will pitch camp in n0dine to start working on a series of interviews with very real phantoms and ghosts from near and far.”

[NL] “In 2019 nodigde ceci* 13 gasten uit om mee te doen aan een experimenteel format, een scenografisch diner. How do things take shape? was de vraag die als een rode draad doorheen de avond liep. We waren nieuwsgierig om te onderzoeken hoe vorm kan worden beschouwd buiten het bereik en het rijk van de mens. En om ons begrip van de rol we spelen in onze eigen processen van creëren, maken en produceren uit te diepen.
Die avond kwam een van de genodigden niet opdagen. Hij was vast komen zitten tussen twee vluchten op zijn terugweg van India naar Europa en werd zo onze eerste fantoomgast. We ontmoetten elkaar later in zijn studio om hem dezelfde vraag te stellen die ons tijdens het diner vergezelde: How do things take shape?
April 2021. Dezer dagen lijkt het misschien alsof alle stoelen rond de (eet)tafel leeg zijn. Maar laat u niet misleiden! ceci staat in nauw contact met verschillende spookgasten: kunstenaars en ambachtslui, makers, denkers, wetenschappers… om te begrijpen hoe, voor elk van hen, de dingen vorm krijgen.
ceci pakt de draad weer op waar we hem twee jaar geleden hebben achtergelaten. Van 20 tot 30 april slaan we ons kamp op in n0dine om te beginnen aan een reeks interviews met echte fantomen en geesten van heinde en verre.”

[FR] En 2019, ceci* organise un dîner scénographique autour de la question centrale « comment les choses prennent forme ? ». Nous étions curieuses d’explorer la question de savoir comment la forme peut être pensée en dehors de portée du domaine de l’humain ? Pendant une résidence de dix jours, ceci suivra ce fil et entrera en contact avec différents (fantômes) invités – artistes et artisans, faiseurs, penseurs, scientifiques, etc – afin de comprendre comment, pour chacun d’entre eux, les choses prennent forme.
