WRAP UP OF A ROCK/STAR TOUR
[EN] María Quiñelén is a feminist and activist Mapuche Medicine woman who has been invited by artist and researcher Isabel Burr Raty in a joint endeavour with apass, ERG, wabo, nadine and KVS to carry out a series of activities during November 2022.
Maria’s practice involves knowledge about the arts of medicinal plants and magic, questions about autonomy, resistance and community, repair and friendship, the micro and macro cosmos. And, as part of the Mapuche community, she is at the forefront of the survival and ecological fight/crisis and is spokesperson of her people.
The evening at KVS invites all participants of the activities María has met at:

This gathering will include a conversation and dialogue with María and her assistant Marcela Vargas, facilitated by Gerardo Salinas, KVS dramaturg, and Isabel, about her presence in Brussels and her interest in the arts, as well as an intervention with Moya Michael (KVS resident) and a closing ritual.
BIO – María Quiñelén is a feminist and activist Mapuche medicine woman born in Nueva Imperial, Chile. At the age of 7 her grandmother started training her in the arts of herbs by teaching her, amongst others, how to talk to them in her dreams. Since then, for over 40 years she has been working as a social educator, imparting the Mapuche Cosmovision knowledge and the arts of medicinal herbs through her mobile school. Maria is also expert in natural and humanized birth and a ceremonial facilitator. Actively involved in social media, she has been invited by numerous TV and radio programs and lectured in diverse Indigenous Nations knowledge Congresses in Latin America.
[FR] María Quiñelén est une activiste féministe, médecin d’origine mapuche, invitée par l’artiste chercheuse Isabel Burr Raty dans un effort commun entre apass, l’ERG, wabo, nadine et le KVS de promouvoir une série d’activités au mois de novembre 2022.
La pratique de Maria se base sur la connaissance de la médecine par les plantes et par la magie, des questions d’autonomie, de résistance et de communauté, de réparation et d’amitié, du micro et du macro cosmos. En tant qu’appartenant à la communauté mapuche elle est à l’avant-plan de la lutte contre la crise écologique et est aussi la porte-parole de son peuple.
La soirée au KVS invite tous les participants que Maria a rencontrés :

Ce rassemblement se fera autour d’une conversation entre Maria et son assistante Marcela Vargas, animée par Gerardo Salinas, dramaturge pour le KVS et Isabel, et portera sur la présence à Bruxelles de Maria et son intérêt pour l’art. Il y aura en outre une intervention de Moya Michael (résidente au KVS) et un rituel de clôture.

Très active sur les réseaux sociaux, elle a été l’invitée de nombreux programmes de télévision et de radio et a donné des conférences dans divers congrès sur le savoir des nations indigènes en Amérique latine.
