“Today the gap between the ‘Natures World’ and mankind has grown too great. Even so, while this global problem is huge, most of the solutions available to us are local, personal, empowering and fun. Inspired by and being a part of rising culture of urban gardening – from rooftop gardens to school and personal green activities, often instigated by artistic initiatives – project is looking in to how different collaborative design methodologies can bridge that gap. How through using play aspect within the structure of board games, visual/drawing language, artistic expressions and systems thinking, could give deeper understanding of edible plant systems within the urban environment of diverse cultural human clusters.
Plant Kingdom TooBox is a learning tool in the form of game for children, their families and school environments, that allows to investigate and discover the much needed connection between the individual and its environment, that combines Nature, Art, Play and Community.
It is a representation of complex networks of ecosystems. It is created as a mirror to reflect this perspective for individuals within urban environment, regardless of our geographical, social and cultural boundaries”

We warmly invite you to join us for a day of celebration of one more beautiful collaboration on Plant Kingdom ToolBox project.
We will start the day with a presentation about the journey of Plant Kingdom that started in 2012, we will share the process and the results of this project. After the more formal presentation we will invite you to join us for the creative lunch as edible paintings, followed by games, drawings and lots of fun. We wish to finish the day around a glass of wine and some discussions.

“Vandaag is de kloof tussen de Wereld van de Natuur en de mensheid te groot geworden. Hoewel dit een wereldwijd probleem is, zijn de meeste oplossingen die voorhanden zijn, lokaal, persoonlijk, empowering alsook leuk. Geïnspireerd door en participerend aan de cultuur van het stedelijk tuinieren – van daktuinen op school tot kleinschalige groene activiteiten, vaak via artistieke initiatieven – onderzoekt het project hoe verschillende co-creatieve ontwerpmethodologieën die kloof kunnen dichten. Hoe kunnen we aan de hand van spel, zoals bordspellen, visuele of tekentaal, artistieke expressies en systeemdenken, tot een dieper inzicht komen over eetbare plantensystemen binnen de stedelijke omgeving en onze diverse culturele menselijke clusters.
De Plant Kingdom Toolbox is een leerinstrument dat kinderen, hun families en hun schoolomgeving spelenderwijs samenbrengt. PK Toolbox helpt de cruciale connecties tussen het individu en zijn (urbane) omgeving te ontdekken en zo creativiteit, openheid en zelfvertrouwen te stimuleren. Het project onderzoekt hoe artistieke praktijken de verbindingen tussen ecologie, samen-spel en educatieve systemen kunnen ondersteunen en versterken. De Toolbox representeert de complexe samenhang van ecosystemen en is een tool voor reflectie voor individuen in een stedelijke omgeving los van geografische, sociale en culturele grenzen.”
