[EN] ‘Re-Enactment/Canon’ is the topic of the last iteration of Salon in 2019 looking for the questioning of the (geo)politics of artistic programming, a theme searching to understand what gets to be re-presented, by whom and how. The guest artist for this Salon is Elen Braga.

Salon is a series of nomadic conversations in Brussels criss-crossing and connecting the city’s artists through their shared questions and enquiries. The aim of Salon is to create temporary communities around artist-questions, to propose, debate, discuss, share and problematize bursting through disciplinary, linguistic and other precieved borders. To create a porous space to come together in difference around the questions that drive our practices.

[NL] ‘Re-Enactment/Canon’ is het onderwerp van de laatste editie van Salon in 2019. We bevragen de (geo)politiek van de artistieke programmatie, een thema dat wil begrijpen wat er opnieuw gepresenteerd wordt, door wie en hoe. De gastkunstenaar voor dit Salon is Elen Braga.

Salon is een reeks nomadische gesprekken in Brussel die de kunstenaars van de stad met elkaar willen verbinden aan de hand van gemeenschappelijke vragen en vragen. Het doel van het Salon is om tijdelijke gemeenschappen te creëren rond kunstenaarsvragen, om voorstellen te doen, te debatteren, te discussiëren, te delen en te problematiseren door het doorbreken van disciplinaire, linguïstische en andere precieze grenzen. Het creëren van een poreuze ruimte om samen te komen in het verschil rond de vragen die onze praktijken drijven.
